Sources: Mikel Arteta shortlists ambitious Arsenal targets ahead of January window

With Arsenal sitting at the summit of the Premier League table and firmly in the hunt to end their long wait for a league title, attention inside the club is now turning towards the January transfer window.

Manager Mikel Arteta has already hinted that reinforcements could arrive, comments that have naturally raised expectations among supporters eager to see the squad strengthened for the decisive second half of the season.

Arsenal’s campaign has been impressive so far, but injuries in defense and the heavy workload placed on key midfielders have increased the need for greater depth.

With domestic and European commitments piling up, the club’s recruitment team have been busy lining up options across several positions, even if January business is expected to be measured rather than reckless.

Arsenal remain in the hunt for more talent

In midfield, Arsenal continue to assess options that can add energy and rotation. Ayyoub Bouaddi is one of the standout names.

Valued in the region of €50-60 million, the Lille prospect is highly sought after, but Arsenal are believed to be considering whether a move is feasible if the right conditions arise.

Aleksandar Stanković of Clue Brugge is another player admired for his dynamism and intensity, traits that could complement the existing midfield core.

More experienced options have also been discussed. Rúben Neves, keen on a return to European football, has been offered to several top clubs, including Arsenal, though no concrete response has been made so far.

Gunners have attacking targets on their shortlist

In attack, the club are monitoring elite young talent. Kenan Yıldız remains a long-term target, but Juventus are reluctant to consider a January sale despite strong interest.

Arda Güler is also admired, with Arsenal viewing him as a potential “Ødegaard-style” project, possibly via a loan-to-buy structure. However, his current coach Xabi Alonso is keen to keep him.
