Donald Trump expands travel restrictions ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026
December 18 – The U.S. administration has tightened the screws of the 2026 World Cup again, with yet more directives and an expansion of travel restrictions.
A proclamation signed on Tuesday added Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal to the US travel ban list, extending what the White House calls “partial restrictions and entry limitations.” The two countries will now join Haiti and Iran in a system that now covers 39 countries.
DR Congo is also on the list that has grown from an initial 19 countries.
