Tottenham receive bad news in pursuit of Yan Diomande, not just his £87m release clause
Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande continues getting harder as we approach the January transfer window.
Diomande is quickly establishing a reputation as one of the best young attackers in the Bundesliga, and defences across Germany have found him very hard to stop.
That is why, just six months on from his move to Leipzig, the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool are already eyeing prising Diomande away from the East German club.
Some sources have even claimed over the last week that Spurs have held advanced talks over a deal for Diomande, but the Lilywhites have plenty to work on to win the race for the teenager.

According to CaughOffside, Spurs and Liverpool are not the only Premier League clubs plotting a move for the Ivory Coast international.
Chelsea have also tracked the 19-year-old closely this season, while Man City have scouted him several times this season.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and PSG are also said to be following Diomande’s situation closely ahead of the January window.
The outlet claims that the Leipzig man could be set for one of the biggest transfer battles of 2026, with the number of suitors now increasing steadily.

What makes the deal even more complicated for Tottenham Hotspur is that, according to CaughtOffside, Leipzig have made it crystal clear that the winger is not going anywhere in January.
The Bundesliga club see the youngster as a big part of their project and want him to develop into a finished product at the Red Bull Arena.
Interestingly, the publication says Diomande has no release clause in his contract. This was contradicted by an earlier update by TEAMtalk, which claimed that the Spurs target has a £87m release clause at Leipzig.
