Italian media react to Pulisic’s brace: ‘Stronger than fever’ and ‘driving force’
Christian Pulisic was the undisputed Man Of The Match in Milan’s 3-2 win over Torino on Monday: ‘Stronger than fever.’
Milan secured a 3-2 comeback win over Torino last night, seeing Pulisic score two decisive goals as a substitute in the second half.
The American star had travelled to Turin on the morning of the game, having spent the previous days in bed with a high fever.
However, he was fit enough to play 30 minutes, which was just about what Milan needed to claim all three points at the Stadio Grande Torino, ending a three-game losing streak at the Granata’s home.
Pulisic ‘stronger than fever’ in Milan’s 3-2 win
Pulisic was rated 8/10 by all Italian newspapers and was naturally the MOTM in last night’s game in Turin.
Corriere dello Sport wrote that Pulisic was “stronger than fever. He was introduced and brought Milan back to the top with a stunning brace. He would have scored a third one too, but Nkunku was offside. Anything else needed?”
Tuttosport added: “Pulisic turned the first ball he touched into gold by scoring the goal for 2-2. Ten minutes later, he even scored the 3-2. And thank goodness, he wasn’t at his best because of the fever.
Pulisic the Serie A top goal-scorer
Gazzetta dello Sport concluded: “Despite the fever, he entered and scored the brace that decided the game. The team’s driving force. He has seven goals in Serie A.”
Pulisic is the joint-Serie A top-goal scorer with seven goals, alongside Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.
Milan’s win against Torino allowed the Rossoneri to join Napoli at the top of the Serie A table with 31 points.
