Devin Williams Trolls Yankees Fans With New Instagram Story
Former New York Yankees reliever Devin Williams is now a New York Met. On December 3, Williams officially signed a three-year, $51 million deal to take his talents to Queens, and according to his Instagram story from the same day, Williams isn’t afraid to troll his former supporters in the Bronx.
Williams wrote the following message to Yankees fans in his story: “For a bunch of people that didn’t want me back on your team, yall sure are mad in the dm’s.”
Williams’ Yankees tenure infamously got off to a horrendous start in 2025, with him ultimately losing the closer role due to a series of heinous outings. Williams did recover his quality throughout the season, though, and had a much better second half. He didn’t allow a run in the postseason, and his numbers from August onward were back to really solid levels.
With his strong last couple of months, D-Will re-habilitated his reputation and market value, and a lot of Mets fans are happy to have him on board.
It also sounds like certain Yankees fans are bitter about seeing him go, despite many of those same fans lambasting him at the start of 2025 for ruining their season.
Williams also hilariously got the Yankees to alter their facial hair policy during his lone season with the club. The policy was in place for about 50 years, prohibiting Yankees players from having beards or long hair. Williams’ efforts led to “well-groomed bears” being allowed in the Yankees clubhouse.
