Man United receive late double fitness boost ahead of Everton clash

0 20

Manchester United have been handed a major double fitness boost ahead of their crucial Premier League showdown with Everton later today.

According to reliable insider Sully Talkz, Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are both set to return to the Man United squad today against Everton.

Mainoo missed the 2–2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur after picking up a knock in training.

He did not train on Friday, with manager Ruben Amorim confirming that his participation had not been decided yet.

It now appears the 20-year-old has passed a late fitness test and may be included on the bench.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are expected to anchor the midfield, though Mainoo may still get valuable minutes in the second half.

Manuel Ugarte has struggled this campaign, with Amorim admitting that the midfielder has yet to adapt to English football.

He also sent a clear warning to the 24-year-old to improve his performances in training if he wants to salvage his United career.

The imminent return of Lisandro Martinez is the biggest boost Amorim could have hoped for.

Amorim previously suggested the Argentine might not be ready for Everton, but Martinez now seems to have forced a rethink with his rapid progress.

Martinez is one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in the Premier League.

He could come off the bench to replace Luke Shaw in the left centre-back spot.

The 27-year-old brings an elite mentality and relentless fighting spirit that could instantly galvanize United.

A victory for the Red Devils could take them up to fourth or fifth spot after their rivals Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur suffered defeats this weekend.
