BeauBarryThe structure has been tweaked though no? In possession with Laird/BOS at RB they pushed on high and wide and the RW moved infield to give them the space to exploit. With Iwata at RB hes running (sprinting) between no10 and RW when we have the ball, their LW and LB have to follow him infield which is leaving Roberts hugging the touchline with space go exploit.
Thats how I see it anyway. Although general principle is the same the weird hybrid role that Iwata is playing is making more space to Roberts, rather than him hitting congestion by having to come inside and open up a running channel for Laird.
Underlapping instead of overlapping. That also might have something to do with how Roberts likes to play right wing as opposed to most inverted wingers.
