Bruins Vow To ‘Regroup’ After Disappointing Loss To Hurricanes

The Boston Bruins suffered a 3-1 home loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.

Boston returned home for one game before a West Coast road trip, and the Bruins struggled against the Hurricanes. The game was scoreless after the first period, but Carolina led 2-0 after the second period and got up 3-0 with less than three minutes to go. Riley Tufte scored his first goal of the season with 10 seconds to go.

Following the loss, the Bruins are set to go on a three-game California road trip, and Tufte said the team needs to regroup before the road trip.

“We have to regroup as a team and be ready for the West Coast,” Tufte said on Monday, as seen on NESN’s postgame show. “Video is a big help to us, especially the guys who just got called up, because the systems, for the most part, are the same.

“But some stuff there are little tweaks in there. Just trying to get on the right page and talk with your linemates before the game.”

Although the Bruins are coming off a disappointing loss on Monday, Boston is still confident heading into their road trip.

Boston’s star goalie, Jeremy Swayman, said the team has plenty of confidence in its group ahead of the road trip.

“We’re confident going into this road trip knowing that everyone wearing the Black and Gold is going to give us a chance to win every night,” Swayman said.

With the loss to the Hurricanes, Boston fell to 12-9-0, but remains atop the Atlantic Division.

The Bruins will return to the ice on Wednesday on the road against the Anaheim Ducks.
