Jaylen Brown Reveals Jayson Tatum’s Hidden Impact On Celtics

Jayson Tatum remains sidelined by his Achilles injury, but he’s still doing everything he can to help the Boston Celtics win.

Despite not being able to contribute on the court, Tatum has remained extremely involved off the court. He’s attended almost every game and has continued to travel with the team on road trips, supporting his teammates every chance he gets.

According to Jaylen Brown, Tatum has also taken on an assistant coach-type of role, shedding light on Tatum’s continued leadership and hidden impact off the court.

“He’s been super active. He’s been around. It’s been dope to see. He’s been engaged. He’s been on the majority of every flight, almost every film session. So that level of dedication, you can tell he’s eager to get back,” Brown recently told reporters.

“A lot of guys that know they got an extended amount of time, they’re going to separate themselves mentally for a little bit or whatever. He’s been there. He’s been like an extra coach, in a sense. So it’s been kind of cool to see,” Brown added.

Tatum is working hard to return from the Achilles injury that he suffered during the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Knicks. It’s the first major injury of his NBA career, so he’s hoping to get back as soon as possible.

The Celtics have struggled without him, going 6-7 to begin the season. Fortunately, Tatum’s rehab is ahead of schedule, and he could be on track to return by late February.

In the meantime, expect him to keep showing up and being there for his teammates.
