Napoli turn sights on Timber, targeted for January transfer swoop

0 14

Napoli are turning their focus towards Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber in the search for a new midfielder in January, as his contract is running down.

The Partenopei know that reinforcements are required in that area of the squad after serious muscular injuries to both Kevin De Bruyne and Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, who won’t be back until 2026.

They have examined several different alternatives on the transfer market, but are trying to keep costs down.

According to CalcioNapoli24, an intriguing option is 24-year-old Timber, as his contract with Feyenoord is set to expire at the end of the season.

His club is therefore eager to make a January sale to avoid losing him as a free agent in the summer.

He can play in a variety of midfield roles and has seven senior caps for the Netherlands.

He is the twin brother of Arsenal player Jurrien Timber and has another brother called Dylan currently at VVV-Venlo.

So far this season, he has played 14 times for Feyenoord in all competition, contributing two goals and one assist.
