Why Napoli star Hojlund missed Denmark’s 2-2 draw vs. Belarus
Napoli star Rasmus Hojlund missed Saturday’s game against Belarus due to a fever, but should be fit for Tuesday’s match against Scott McTominay’s Scotland.
Napoli star Hojlund was not even on the bench last night when his Denmark side were held to a 2-2 home draw by Belarus in the World Cup qualifiers.
Why Hojlund was not available in Denmark vs. Belarus
As reported by Danish media outlet Ekstrabladet, Hojlund was unavailable due to illness, but he’s expected to be available next week in a crucial away game in Scotland.
Denmark missed a golden chance to qualify for the World Cup last night as Scotland, who are second-placed Group C, lost 3-2 in Greece.
Hojlund vs. McTominay for a World Cup spot
This means the Scots still have a chance to qualify for the World Cup being just one point below Denmark ahead of the final game of the group stage.
Hojlund, 22, has scored four goals in 10 appearances with Napoli this season.
The Partenopei return to action on Saturday, November 22, with a home game against Atalanta.
