Patriots One Of Just Two Teams To Receive A+ Midseason Grade

Tuesday is not only the NFL trade deadline but marks the midway point of the 2025 regular season.

With Week 9 in the books, Chad Graff and Josh Kendall of The Athletic revealed their weekly NFL power rankings on Tuesday and gave every team a midseason grade as well.

The New England Patriots (7-2) were one of just two teams to receive an A+, joining the Indianapolis Colts (7-2). The Patriots were also placed ninth on the rankings, staying put following their 24-23 victory against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

“Maybe the most shocking stat of the first half of the season is that the Patriots — a team that went 4-13 in each of the last two years — now have the best odds of any team in the league to make the playoffs (97 percent), per our playoff simulator. Everything is breaking right in Mike Vrabel’s first season,” the article read.

While head coach Mike Vrabel is a midseason Coach of the Year contender and quarterback Drake Maye is a MVP frontrunner, the Colts have their own representatives for that hardware as well.

After the team went just 9-8 and 8-9 over the last two seasons, Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen and quarterback Daniel Jones have the Colts tied atop the NFL standings with the Patriots and Denver Broncos.
