Patriots Insider Names Six Potential Trade Targets Ahead Of Deadline

The New England Patriots are gearing up for their Week 10 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but first, they have business to attend to during the NFL trade deadline. With several areas of need popping up across their roster, the Pats could end up being busy on Tuesday.

With a 7-2 record, New England is clearly ahead of schedule in the 2025 campaign. Armed with a slew of draft picks and the most cap space in the league, the Pats have the ability to pull off any move that is of interest to them.

Perhaps the team’s biggest area of need is along their defensive line, where Harold Landry III and K’Lavon Chaisson could use some help. With that in mind, Patriots insider Mike Girardi of Boston Sports Journal recently highlighted six trade candidates who could help fill this spot for the Pats.

“Other names that could make sense/be on their radar include Arden Key in Tennessee (who played under Vrabel for one season), Malcolm Koonce in Vegas, and, if Miami really wanted to strip it down to the studs, Bradley Chubb. However, his contract is a little more onerous,” Girardi wrote.

“Cincinnati’s ask for Trey Hendrickson remains exorbitant (a 1st). There have also been rumblings about Arnold Ebiketie, who you just saw make a couple of plays for Atlanta on Sunday, and Seattle’s Boye Mafe (15 sacks over the last two seasons but zero this year as a reserve).”

While the Patriots can make a big move before the deadline strikes, the front office has made it clear they aren’t going to swing a deal just for the sake of doing so. With that in mind, it seems more likely they will target cheaper options like Arden Key or Malcolm Koonce.

It would certainly help to bring a couple of new faces to town, but New England has a good thing going currently, and it doesn’t want to ruin it. The Patriots will be worth keeping tabs on ahead of the deadline, which closes at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday afternoon.
