"Stunning": Alan Shearer blown away by £35m Man Utd star after six recoveries vs Nottm Forest
Manchester United extended their Premier League unbeaten run to four games after a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
The Red Devils had a deserved first-half lead through Casemiro’s towering header, but Forest made an exceptional comeback after the break.
Sean Dyche’s side scored twice in the space of just 120 seconds, but United fought back to secure a hard-fought point away from home.
Amad Diallo produced a moment of magic with a stunning strike from outside the box.
The Ivorian could have scored the winner too. His effort was on target, but Forest centre-back Murillo made a terrific goal-line clearance.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has now picked Amad Diallo in his Premier League Team of the Week. He said: “A constant threat throughout.
“Man Utd needed a moment of magic to earn a point at Forest and his stunning late strike provided it.”
Amad had three shots on target and was unlucky not to score the winner. Aside from his goal, he made six ball recoveries and won four duels.
The £35 million-rated star has been quite exceptional since the last international break. He has seemingly made the right wing-back position his own.
The onus is now on maintaining the consistency. The Red Devils take on Tottenham Hotspur on the road in their next Premier League game on Saturday.
Spurs had a midweek clash against Copenhagen in the Champions League. United have had extra time and rest to prepare for the north London trip.
The Red Devils are surprisingly winless in the last seven matches against Spurs. They have suffered defeats in the previous four outings including the 2025 Europa League final.
The final defeat ended United’s hopes of Champions League football this season. Ruben Amorim’s side must avenge that result with a victory heading into the international break.
A win over Spurs could send United into the top four if other results go their way.
