Myles Garrett Praises Will Campbell After Patriots-Browns Matchup
The New England Patriots secured their fifth consecutive victory on Sunday, overcoming the Browns with a score of 32-13. While Cleveland’s offense struggled to find its rhythm, the defense showcased some impressive moments, particularly from pass rusher Myles Garrett.
Garrett finished the contest with six combined tackles and five sacks. Even though he had a great afternoon, he still walked away impressed by New England’s rookie left tackle, Will Campbell.
“He’s strong,” Garrett said on Sunday, via Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed. “You want to set the tempo and the pace of the game with power. He was able to be pretty firm in his stance and keep me from knocking him back, and just trying to hit him with different looks, try to keep him off guard.”
The Patriots used the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select Campbell, and there was a real possibility that Garrett and Campbell could’ve become teammates.
Cleveland, sitting at No. 2, traded down with the Jacksonville Jaguars to No. 5, losing out on any chance of drafting the star tackle.
New England was likely delighted in Cleveland’s decision not to select Campbell, especially since the Browns faced significant challenges at left tackle going into the draft.
Even though Campbell has played in only eight games, the Patriots may have found their future left tackle to protect quarterback Drake Maye.
