No. 1 De La Salle 56, No. 10 San Ramon Valley 7

Brayden Knight’s 14-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Scott and the quarterback’s 33-yard scramble for a touchdown helped lift De La Salle to a blowout victory on the road over San Ramon Valley. The Spartans improved to 8-0. SRV is 5-4. Darren Sabedra has more details here.

No. 3 Pittsburg 51, Deer Valley 0

RJ Mosley caught a 73-yard touchdown pass from Carlos Torres and a 22-yard scoring pass from JaVale Jones as host Pittsburg rolled to a victory over Deer Valley in Bay Valley Athletic League play. Jones also threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Truly Bell and scored on a six-yard run. Torres added a nine-yard scoring pass to Jacob Guirguis, Xavier Fatu returned an interception seven yards for a TD and Isaiah Harrison opened the scoring with a seven-yard touchdown run. Pittsburg improved to 7-1, 3-0. Deer Valley is 4-4, 0-3. – Darren Sabedra

No. 5 Serra 28, No. 12 Archbishop Mitty 13

After fumbling the ball to an aggressive Kai Sniffen a little earlier, Jeovanni Henley made the play of the game for Serra, returning an interception for a touchdown to bring momentum right back to the Padres’ bench. Christian Babcock was in Los Altos Hills and has the full story here.

No. 20 Monte Vista 34, No. 7 California 13

An upset in Danville reshuffled the balance of power in the East Bay Athletic League’s Mountain Division. Monte Vista (5-3, 1-0), now leading the division after winning its league opener, took an early lead after a California fumble and withstood an early pick-six to take a 20-13 halftime lead. The Mustangs pulled away after the break. Ian Ondricek had two passing TDs to Chase Wuischpard, Torin Dunphy ran in a pair of scores and Justin Grisham ran in one. “We got our butt kicked tonight,” California coach Danny Calcagno said after his team fell to 7-1, 1-1. “I had a bad feeling all week.” — Christian Babcock

No. 13 St. Francis 28, St. Ignatius 7

St. Francis (3-5, 3-2) got two rushing touchdowns from Motu Keanaaina, an 88-yard punt return score from Dom Oteiza and a 51-yard TD catch by Aaron Bonini from Drew Cumby to win the West Catholic Athletic League game in Mountain View. Zui Shelton scored the lone TD for SI (2-6, 1-4). The game was halted in the fourth quarter because of an injury to a St. Francis player. — Christian Babcock

No. 18 Santa Teresa 27, Christopher 16

After falling behind 13-0 in the first half, Santa Teresa rallied to remain undefeated in Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division play. The Saints (8-0, 3-0) got 98 rushing yards and two TDs from Jaylen Malcom, and Prince Collins also had a big day with three catches for 90 yards, including a TD. Brian Caldwell carried nine times for 47 yards and the Saints’ other score. QB Dylan Robinson had a strong night for Christopher (4-4, 1-2), completing 15 of 23 passes for 168 yards. He passed for one TD and ran for one. Kordell Crocker caught six passes for 71 yards, and Ethan Vernon had three receptions for 52 yards and a score. — Christian Babcock

East Bay

Antioch 35, Heritage 14

Cam Hubler had a game for Antioch, returning a pick-six for a TD and running back a punt as the Panthers remained tied with Pittsburg atop the Bay Valley Athletic League standings. Antioch (7-1, 3-0) enters the meat of its schedule next with matchups at Liberty and Pittsburg to close the regular season Hubler has a defensive TD in every one of Antioch’s league games. Kiante Johnson had a pick-six, Joaquin Stewart returned a blocked field goal for a TD, and Javier Quintero Padilla and Damajae Woods scored two-point conversions. Wilson Douglas Brown caught a 40-plus-yard pass for a TD for Heritage (1-7, 1-2), and Christian Adanandus returned a kickoff for a score. — Christian Babcock

Bishop O’Dowd 28, Moreau Catholic 7

Christian Cermenelli-Johnson threw two touchdown passes to Ian Garrick and Lamar Ellis ran for two TDs to lead O’Dowd to a victory on the road over Moreau Catholic in WACC Foothill Division play. Garrick also intercepted a pass and Isaiah Latu had two sacks as the Dragons are alone in first place with a 4-0 league record. They are 5-3 overall. Lance Mitchell scored the only touchdown for Moreau, which fell to 3-6, 2-3. – Darren Sabedra

Miramonte 25, Las Lomas 22

Miramonte senior Charlie Metherd, sidelined with a broken wrist, wasn’t going to play Friday. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. But in the second quarter, Miramonte’s starting quarterback went out with a broken collarbone. Metherd, on Senior Night, went to the locker room, put on his pads and played the second half. After Las Lomas took the lead with eight minutes left, Metherd marched the host Matadors down the field for the winning touchdown, completing two long passes James Rogers. It was Miramonte’s first league win in seven years. Jonah Imberg had a 50-yard TD run, Rogers caught two TD passes and George Gilbert had a TD reception and an interception. David Roman also picked off a pass. But the hero of the night was Metherd. “An absolute legend at Miramonte,” coach Nick Safir said. Miramonte is 5-4, 1-2 DAL Foothill. Piedmont 39, Washington-Fremont 35

Trailing 35-32, Piedmont drove 80 yards in 2 ½ minutes for the go-ahead touchdown by Rehan Mumtaz. Washington, playing at home, tried to respond, marching to the Piedmont 40. But Mumtaz, who scored two TDs and ran for 185 yards, sealed the WACC Mission Division win with an interception. Xavier Henderson also scored two touchdowns and Jimmy Lagios threw for two scores for Piedmont, which improved to 4-4, 2-1. Washington fell to 4-3, 1-2. – Darren Sabedra

San Leandro 20, James Logan 14

San Leandro handed James Logan its first loss in WACC Foothill Division play as Jaymieon Bradley scored two touchdowns and Ignacio Ceja had a two-point conversion to lead the Pirates. A blocked punt led to a touchdown by Justin Ammons in the first half as visiting San Leandro took a 20-0 lead. Two long touchdown passes pulled James Logan to within 20-14, but the Pirates held on to improve to 5-3, 2-2. James Logan fell to 5-3, 3-1. – Darren Sabedra 

South Bay/Peninsula

Burlingame 14, Capuchino 6

The host Panthers (5-3, 2-1) scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns in a comeback victory that allowed them to remain tied for second in the Peninsula Athletic League De Anza Division. Nick Armstrong’s 64-yard pass to Will Armstrong (nine catches, 149 yards) put Burlingame ahead, and Will Armstrong passed 55 yards to Dylan Black for the clincher with 2:54 left. For Capuchino (2-6, 1-2), Carmel Villareal scored on a three-yard run and had 19 carries for 84 yards. — David Kiefer

Hillsdale 28, Milpitas 16

Jacob Bonner rushed for 130 yards on 30 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead visiting Hillsdale in Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division action. The Knights (3-5 overall, 1-2 Ocean) passed for 305 yards and averaged 19.1 yards per completion, with Branden Kee completing 9 of 17 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns. For Milpitas (4-4, 1-2), Jelani North caught six passes for 125 yards and a score. — David Kiefer

Jefferson 38, Homestead 12

Jefferson continued to stake its claim as the top dog in the PAL Lake Division with a convincing win at home in Daly City. The Grizzlies (6-2, 5-0) have now handled both of their presumed top challengers for the league title in MacDonald and Homestead and will close out the regular season with games against Cupertino and Mills, who share a combined record of 2-13. David Robu ran in a 10-yard TD for Homestead (5-3, 3-3), and Louis Montgomery caught a 10-yard TD pass from Carson Chang. — Christian Babcock

Lincoln-San Jose 35, Leigh 30

Lincoln’s Kyan Phillips scored five touchdowns, including a 25-yard interception return that gave the Lions a 28-17 third-quarter lead, and tied a school season record with his 26th touchdown. Phillips rushed for 125 yards on 27 carries and caught two passes for 38 yards as the Lions (7-1, 2-1) remained in a second-place tie with Live Oak in the Blossom Valley Athletic League Mount Hamilton Division race. Leigh is 4-4 and 0-3. — David Kiefer

Live Oak 52, Branham 46

Live Oak junior Gage Jones rushed for 304 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead the visiting Acorns to a wild victory on the road over Branham in BVAL Mt. Hamilton Division play. Live Oak improved to 7-1, 2-1. Branham is 5-3, 1-2. David Kiefer has the complete recap here.

MacDonald 35, Monta Vista 0

MacDonald got back on track with a dominant win over Monta Vista that kept the Condors in the hunt for the PAL Lake title and a spot in the CCS playoffs. Isaiah Tela had a 7-yard rushing TD, Siaosi Hautau caught a 3-yard score, JR Leonard snagged a 13-yard TD, Dom Ortega ran in a 6-yard score and Trey Rosario ran in a 5-yarder. Moussa Fall threw for 200 yards and a pair of scores. MacDonald is 7-1, 4-1; Monta Vista is 3-5, 1-4. — Christian Babcock

Piedmont Hills 37, Oak Grove 14

John Palomo threw four touchdown passes, two to Diego Arias, of 17 and 70 yards, to help the host Pirates remain the lone undefeated team in Blossom Valley Athletic League Santa Teresa-Foothill Division play. Piedmont Hills (5-3, 3-0) caused five turnovers, picking off four passes. Travis Linane had two interceptions and scored on a 48-yard catch. Alexavier Rivera caught a 35-yard TD pass and had an interception. Cash Martinez kicked a 28-yard field goal and scored four extra points for Piedmont Hills. Oak Grove dropped to 1-7 and 1-2. — David Kiefer

San Jose 46, Prospect 9

Twelve San Jose players ran the ball 52 times for 350 yards to lead the Bulldogs to a rout of visiting Prospect, which entered the game unbeaten in BVAL West Valley Division play. With the win, San Jose is now in position to take the division’s automatic spot into the CCS playoffs. Glenn Reeves has the game story here.

San Mateo 35, Carlmont 21

Lukas Fitzgerald (117) and his brother, Yianni, combined for 201 rushing yards, four touchdowns and 29 points to lead the host Bearcats (5-3, 2-1), who are tied for second in the Peninsula Athletic League De Anza Division. Each scored two touchdowns and Yianni added five PATs for San Mateo, which gained 404 yards offensively and defensively got two interceptions from Tyce Copus. For Carlmont (2-6, 1-3), quarterback Brody Zirelli connected with Dylan Sorensen on two scores and Kaisei Trotter ran for a 40-yard TD. — David Kiefer

Sobrato 33, Gunderson 14

Brady Lennon rushed for four touchdowns to help keep the visiting Bulldogs (5-3, 3-0) in a first-place tie with Willow Glen in BVAL Santa Teresa-Valley Division play. Other Sobrato highlights included a rushing touchdown by Brayden Hughes and interceptions by freshman Michael Moore and defensive lineman Jacob Mutobe. Gunderson (5-3, 1-2) is in a three-way tie for third in the division. — David Kiefer

Willow Glen 41, Westmont 8

Willow Glen got another strong game from quarterback Aiden Akery, who completed 7 of 10 passes for 173 yards and four TDs, as the Rams continued to roll in BVAL Santa Teresa-Valley Division play with a victory over Westmont. Running back Lucas Favela ran for 135 yards on 11 carries and a TD as Willow Glen improved to 6-2, 3-0. Caiden Morefield caught two passes, both touchdowns, for 86 yards, and Chris Amann caught a TD and blocked a punt. Aiden Aragon snagged an interception. Running back Xavier Solis had a solid night for Westmont, running for 93 yards on 19 carries. Cole Treleaven caught six passes for 61 yards. Willow Glen has outscored three league opponents 112-8. — Christian Babcock
