I see where you're coming from, but sometimes I think Birmingham needs to find a hook to hang it's cultural relevance on. Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and the Northern mining communities have their own historical relevances that they lean into in a way I don't think that Birmingham does. For a place with such a long and varied contribution to the country, from the outside we get little exposure really.

While I don't want mawkishness to come into it, I think to build a brand the way us and Knighthead envisage we will need to be a bit less pragmatic and tell some of these stories in a positive way
