Celtics’ New Court Design For NBA Cup Unveiled

The NBA has unveiled its new court designs for the upcoming Emirates NBA Cup, which will begin this month, with the Boston Celtics’ court looking similar to last year’s, albeit with a few changes.

Compared to the 2024 version (below), this year’s court replaced “Celtics” at the center court logo with “Boston” and adjusted the parquet-inspired design. The “Boston Celtics” font on each baseline is now solid white, as compared with last year’s green font with white trim.

For the third straight season, all 30 NBA teams participating in the NBA Cup (formerly called the “In-Season Tournament”) will play in group stage games from late October through November, divided into five-team pods per conference, with games counting toward regular-season records.

Single-elimination quarterfinals begin in early December, hosted by the higher seeds, followed by semifinals and finals at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. Emirates signed on as title sponsor in early 2024, boosting its profile with prizes including $500,000 per player for the winning team.

This year’s NBA Cup kicks off on October 31, just over a week into the regular schedule, with group play wrapping by November 26.

The inaugural 2023-24 edition crowned the Los Angeles Lakers as champions after they outlasted the Indiana Pacers 123-109 in the final, with LeBron James earning MVP honors. A year later, in 2024-25, the Milwaukee Bucks claimed the title with a decisive 97-81 rout of the Oklahoma City Thunder, powered by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s triple-double and MVP nod.

The Celtics advanced to the quarterfinals of the first NBA Cup but fell 122-112 to the Pacers, who capitalized on hot shooting from Tyrese Haliburton to end Boston’s run early.

Last season, Boston went 3-1 in group play, but a tiebreaker loss on point differential to the Orlando Magic denied them entry into the knockout round.
