Tudor’s Juventus job at risk amid poor results and frosty relationship with Comolli
Italian media reports that Juventus coach Igor Tudor is on the brink following a 2-0 loss against Como on Sunday, which contributed to deteriorating the relationship between the Croat and director Damien Comolli.
Juventus coach Tudor is walking on thin ice at the Allianz Stadium as the Bianconeri have not won any of their last six games and lost their first match this season on Sunday, against Como.
Why Tudor not on good terms with Comolli
All Italian sports papers claim that Tudor is under scrutiny, and Tuttosport even reports that the coach and the General Manager Comolli, who will be promoted to CEO next month, are not exactly on good terms.
According to the report, there was a meeting between the pair before the Como game in which Comolli sounded out Tudor’s availability to change system, using a four-man defence.
There was, however, no breakthrough for the Old Lady in Como and the defeat has further worsened the coach’s and director’s mood.
Tudor, at the same time, does not entirely agree with some decisions made by the club, including the appointment of Performance Manager Darren Burgess.
Next two games crucial for Tudor’s Juventus future
According to Gazzetta, the next two games will be decisive for Tudor’s job.
The Bianconeri will visit Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday and then Lazio in Serie A this coming Sunday.
Should Juventus lose both matches, especially the one in Rome, Tudor will likely be sacked, and several possible contenders have already been linked with the job: Roberto Mancini, Luciano Spalletti, Raffaele Palladino and even a possible return of Thiago Motta, who remains under contract with the Bianconeri until 2027.
