Cremonese boss Nicola reveals update on Vardy playing time against Udinese
Cremonese head coach Davide Nicola has predicted that Jamie Vardy will play “50 to 90 minutes” in Monday’s Serie A match against Udinese.
Nicola’s side welcome the Friulians to Cremona tomorrow evening and some attention is on Vardy, who has yet to start since signing for the newly-promoted side in the summer on a free transfer.
Vardy has played just 63 minutes for Nicola’s side so far but that did not stop the coach from praising his new addition:
“He’s undoubtedly shown a certain mentality by choosing Cremonese,” Nicola said, with quotes via SOSFanta, “it was just a matter of starting to work regularly with his teammates. In Milan, he showed great determination at various times.
‘Perhaps Vardy could start’ – Nicola
When asked if this means that Vardy could start against Udinese, Nicola said:
“I could consider him from the start; perhaps it’s also the right time to give him this opportunity.
Cremonese currently find themselves in 10th place in Serie A but a victory against Udinese could see them move up to eighth place.
“From him, as from the others, I expect a desire to blindly believe in what he’s doing and the awareness of representing a team with a very clear objective in this division.”
Cremonese have lost just once of their 6 Serie A games so far this season, winning twice and drawing three games as they attempt to consolidate their position in the top flight.
