David Pastrnak Reveals ‘Only Positive’ From Bruins’ Loss To Golden Knights

The Boston Bruins suffered a 6-5 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.

Boston had a 1-0 lead and a 2-1 lead, but that was the last time the Bruins led in the game. The Bruins were trailing 6-3 early in the third period, and it appeared Vegas was en route to a blowout win.

However, Boston rallied and scored two goals just over a minute apart and still had nearly 15 minutes of play left to try and tie it. Although the Bruins fell short, star forward David Pastrnak was pleased with the team’s effort late in the game and for not giving up.

“A lot of mistakes today,” Pastrnak said on Thursday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “We had a lot of breakdowns that end up in our net. We had an amazing kill. ‘Sway’ (Jeremy Swayman) was standing on his head. We have to be better as a team. We showed fight back. That’s pretty much the only positive from tonight’s game.”

Although the Bruins played a competitive game against a very good Golden Knights team, Pastrnak wasn’t thrilled.

Pastrnak wasn’t the only person unhappy with the team’s play.

“That’s not us,” head coach Marco Sturm said postgame. “I don’t want to play that (high-scoring) game. I’m a defensive mindset coach, I would say, and it starts from there. Offense will come anyway, but you don’t have to cheat the game.”

Boston remains on the road to play the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET.
