ESPN Analyst Predicts Career First For Patriots’ Drake Maye In Week 7

An ESPN analyst expects Drake Maye to keep playing inspired football when the New England Patriots play the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.

Seth Walder made a notable bold prediction for the Week 7 matchup, declaring that Maye will set a new personal milestone in touchdown passes. The writer explained why Sunday’s matchup bodes well for the 23-year-old quarterback.

“Patriots QB Drake Maye will throw four touchdown passes,” Walder said. “New England is one of the heavier pass teams in the league, with a plus-3% pass rate over expectation that ranks fourth highest. Meanwhile, the Titans have the fourth-highest pass rate over expectation allowed (plus-1%). On top of that, don’t you think (Mike) Vrabel is going to want to pour it on against his old team?”

Maye tossed a season-high three passing touchdowns in a Week 6 win over the New Orleans Saints, a tally he reached once as a rookie. While he’s now accounted for three total touchdowns three times this season, Maye has yet to throw four in a game.

Can he do it this weekend? Maye should at least move the ball efficiently, as he boasts the second-best completion rate (73.2%) before facing a Titans defense that’s permitted the league’s fifth-highest completion percentage (70.7).

Walder forecasted a landslide 38-16 win for New England, as he wasn’t the only one to project a scoring outburst at Tennessee. Pamela Maldonado predicted a 35-10 Patriots triumph, and Eric Moody picked a 33-23 Patriots victory.

If they’re right, Maye may generate more MVP buzz with another standout performance. He’s exceeded a 100 quarterback rating in five straight games entering the Week 7 contest, which starts at 1 p.m. ET on CBs.
