Juventus were held to a 2-2 stalemate by Villarreal in the Champions League, and there were no victories in the Europa League as Bologna drew 1-1 against Freiburg, while Roma lost 1-0 against Lille.
The updated UEFA ranking currently sees Portugal at the top and England in second place. The top two countries at the end of the season will get an extra Champions League spot for the next campaign.
Italy earned an extra Champions League place in 2023-24, but currently sit 8th in the standings with 5.857 points.
