'Here we go': Man United lock in another high value transfer asset for 2026

0 4

Manchester United have stepped up their academy rebuild in the past 12–18 months, pouring fresh investment into youth development.

Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his trademark ‘here we go’ style that Man United have sealed a deal to bring in 17-year-old Colombian talent Cristian Orozco.

The Red Devils will pay Fortaleza CEIF a fee of under £1 million for the highly rated youngster.

Orozco will officially complete his move in the summer of 2026 after he turns 18.

Orozco is a defensive midfielder and has captained Colombia’s Under-17 team.

He was instrumental in guiding Colombia to the final of the U17 South American Championship earlier this year.

United are keen to invest in teenagers

The Red Devils have done a fine job of identifying talented youngsters and snapping them up at modest fees.

Sekou Kone moved to Old Trafford from Malian side Guidars FC last summer.

He has a similar profile to Orozco and is seen as an heir to Casemiro’s number six role.

He has trained with the first team several times, but unfortunate injuries have prevented him from making his senior debut so far.

The club also signed Tyler Fletcher and Jack Fletcher from Manchester City’s academy last summer.

Both have impressed staff at Carrington, with Jack in particular edging closer to a senior breakthrough.

The Red Devils have planned carefully to sign starlets with immense potential.

Even if only a few of these youngsters fulfil their promise, United could save millions in the transfer market.

It is also a financially smart tactic, as they could generate profits by selling players for higher fees in the future.

As for Orozco, he will arrive next summer and is expected to spend his first campaign bedding in with United’s youth teams, adjusting to the demands of English football.
