Man United loanees report: Onana provides decisive assist, Rashford described a 'protagonist' in Barcelona win
Several Manchester United loanees were in action over the weekend. Read on as we look at their performances.
Marcus Rashford
Rashford made the headlines for the wrong reason before Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Getafe, as he was left out of the starting line-up after arriving late to training on the morning of the game.
However, he came on as a substitute and provided an assist, and was described as a ‘ protagonist‘ by Spanish outlet Marca.
Andre Onana
The Cameroonian continued his impressive start at Trabzonspor, assisting in their 1-1 draw with Gaziantep. His assist was crucial, preventing the Black Sea Storm from losing their first home game this season.
Antony
Antony played for 71 minutes in Real Betis’ 3-1 win over Real Sociedad. The Brazilian had a quiet game, recording one shot on target and completing just one dribble.
Jadon Sancho
The English forward made his Premier League debut for Aston Villa, coming on as a late substitute as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Sunderland.
He almost set up Matty Cash for the winning goal, but the right-back squandered the chance.
Toby Collyer
The English midfielder continues to struggle for game time at West Bromwich Albion, playing just 28 minutes in their 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.
Harry Amass
Amass helped Sheffield Wednesday to their first victory of the season, winning 2-0 at Portsmouth. He lost just three duels in the encounter and made eight clearances.
Dan Gore
Gore featured for 90 minutes for Rotherham United as they lost 1-0 at home to Stockport County. The 20-year-old was deployed as a defensive midfielder in the fixture and, unsurprisingly, struggled in the unfamiliar role.
Ethan Ennis
Ennis started Fleetwood Town’s 2-1 defeat at Cambridge United. At 0-0, he sparked a counter-attack to release James Norwood, who could not convert.
The 20-year-old has yet to register a league goal contribution for Fleetwood.
Habeeb Ogunneye
Ogunneye played 90 minutes in Newport County’s 3-1 home defeat to Gillingham. The young right-back won three of the four ground duels he contested, but lost all his aerial duels.
Radek Vitek
Vitek was in goal when Bristol City suffered their first league defeat of the season, losing 3-1 at home to Oxford United. The young goalkeeper could do little to prevent the goals he conceded in the fixture.
Elyh Harrison
The promising shot-stopper featured in Shrewsbury Town’s 2-0 defeat at Harrogate Town. He has now conceded 13 goals in six League Two games this term.
