Who had the single biggest impact on Leeds United as a player?

0 15
Leeds United have been blessed with some truly legendary footballers across the decades, from the club’s early years right through to the modern era. Some players brought goals, others leadership, and some simply changed the culture of the club by the way they played and carried themselves. The question is, who had the single biggest impact on the history and fortunes of Leeds United as a player? We’re keeping this strictly about playing careers so Don Revie is excluded.

Tom Jennings
Leeds’ first great goalscorer in the late 1920s, netting over 100 goals and giving the club real credibility in the First Division.

John Charles
The “Gentle Giant” who could dominate in defence or attack, scoring goals for fun and putting Leeds on the map before his record move to Juventus.

Jack Charlton
A one-club man and defensive rock, ever-present through the Revie era and part of England’s 1966 World Cup-winning side.

Bobby Collins
A fiery leader whose arrival in the 1960s transformed Leeds from also-rans into serious contenders, laying the foundations for Revie’s golden team.

Billy Bremner
Captain and heartbeat of the Revie side, the ultimate leader who embodied everything about Leeds’ most successful era.

Gordon Strachan
The veteran who inspired Leeds back into the top flight in the late 80s and drove them on to the First Division title in 1992.

So, who do you think had the single biggest impact on Leeds United as a player?

I know you will all probably say Bremner but would be good to have a discussion, escpecially around some of those who came before. Bremner's impact is certainly clear for all to see but was Bobby Collins the real catalyst of the Revie revolution on the pitch?
