Roma deal with Hermoso and Wesley issues ahead of Derby vs. Lazio
Roma right-wing-back Wesley didn’t train with the rest of the team this morning due to a stomach virus, while Mario Hermoso suffered a minor muscle injury, so they are both in doubt for Sunday’s Derby della Capitale against Lazio.
Roma may be forced to do without Wesley and Hermoso, two regular starters, for a key Derby against city rivals Lazio on Sunday.
Why Wesley didn’t train with Roma on Thursday
As reported by Sky Sport Italia and other Italian media, the Brazilian right-back didn’t train with the team on Thursday morning due to a stomach virus.
Wesley’s condition will be monitored over the next few hours, but the virus leaves him at risk for Sunday’s derby.
Hermoso likely to be ruled out of Lazio vs Roma
Hermoso is even less likely to feature as the Spaniard is dealing with muscle fatigue in the soleus muscle of his right thigh.
Hermoso suffered his latest injury during a training session this morning.
He has already undergone medical tests, which ruled out a severe injury, but the former Atletico Madrid defender remains unlikely to be available for Sunday’s match.
The Giallorossi will surely be forced to cope without Paulo Dybala on Sunday as the Argentine has suffered a thigh injury.
