Can Jaylen Brown Reach All-NBA Honors This Season?

Jaylen Brown is entering his 10th NBA season, and this year could be the most significant of his career.

All-Star forward Jayson Tatum is likely to be sidelined for most, if not the entirety, of the season due to an Achilles tear. In his absence, Brown will step up as the team’s No. 1 option.

The Celtics’ success this season relies on how far Brown can take them, and NBC Sports Boston’s Michael Hurley hopes to see Brown selected for an All-NBA Team.

“I think he has to make an All-NBA Team,” Hurley wrote Monday. “I’m sure people would love to see him make First Team, but considering he made the Second Team a couple of years ago, just being considered among the top 15 players in the league is a fair bar to a player of Brown’s stature to clear in a season when he’s going to have to be the man for his team.”

Brown has made the All-NBA Team once, earning a spot on the All-NBA Second Team during the 2022-23 season.

The Celtics are not only missing Tatum this season, but they also traded away guard Jrue Holiday and forward Kristaps Porzingis during the offseason. As a result, Brown will have to step up and embrace multiple roles.
