Newcastle to make contract offer to England star amid Man City interest
Newcastle will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the Alexander Isak saga in the future, but it could be tough to keep their best players from being tempted by moves to Europe’s elite – and one player that could fall into this category is Tino Livramento.
Newcastle signed Livramento two years ago from Southampton, and in the time since, he has developed into one of the best young full-backs in world football – as well as an England international. His rise has seen him attract interest over the last 12 months, particularly from Man City.
However, Newcastle have no plans to part ways with Livramento in 2026, and they are putting a plan in place to ensure that he remains at St James’ Park for years to come.
Newcastle readying contract offer for Tino Livramento
Pete O’Rourke (via Football Insider) has revealed that Newcastle are planning to offer a new contract to Livramento, as they seek to stop Man City from signing him next summer.
“During the summer window, Manchester City were eyeing up a move for Livramento. Newcastle will be confident that they can keep hold of Livramento, especially if they continue their progress and can offer the player regular Champions League football.
“They don’t want any reason for Livramento to leave, as he’s part of the England squad now as well. Everything’s going right for Livramento right now, and he will be fully deserving of a new contract if Newcastle want to offer him one.”
Livramento is one of Newcastle’s most important players, having started regularly at right-back and left-back over the last 12-18 months. He will be happy with his role in Eddie Howe’s squad, although it remains to be seen whether that is enough for him to commit his future to the St James’ Park side.
