Vlahovic is into the final year of his Bianconeri contract, and had widely been expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window in order for the club to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Despite various links away, largely to Milan during the transfer window, a transfer did not materialise, and Vlahovic was remains a Juventus player and is competing for the centre-forward position with Canada international Jonathan David and fellow new recruit Lois Openda.
Vlahovic has started the first two matches of the season on the bench, behind starter David, but has scored in both of his substitute appearances thus far.

There are some conflicting reports on Saturday morning, however, as Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport believe that David will keep his place in the side, and that Vlahovic will again be brought off the bench.
