Poole Town 2-2 Farnham Town – Match Report
Ik Hill’s last minute equaliser salvaged a deserved point at Tatnam on Tuesday evening against Farnham Town in a 2-2 draw.
Joe Lea and Pat Suraci made one change from the 1-0 win over Chertsey Town with Antonio Diaz coming in for Selim Saied who dropped to the bench.
The away side got the game underway on their first ever visit to Tatnam over the years.
Both sides started the game well on the front foot with end to end action in the early stages.
It was the Dolphins who struck first on the 20th minute through Ik Hill as his magnificent free kick flew into the top left hand corner to give Poole the lead in this one.
Farnham went close on the 34th minute, but Darryl Sanders direct free kick was easily dealt with by Adam Parkes in goal.
Eventually, the visitors found their equaliser just before the break through Mat Mackenzie who placed the ball into the corner to draw the game level going into the break.
The away side had the first real clear cut chance of the second 45 through Owen Dean’s acrobatic effort which went narrowly wide of the post.
With both sides going at it and looking to get the edge, Farnham were awarded a penalty on the 57th minute which Sanders stepped up and converted for the visitors to give them the lead.
With Farnham in front and holding the commanding position, Poole were sending everything at it to try and clinch a deserved equaliser.
Charlie Davis whipped a fierce ball across the face of the goal on the 90th minute but Shaq Gwengwe was unable to convert from close range.
With only a few additional minutes left on the clock, the ball found its way to Hill on the edge who smashed it into the bottom corner to salvage a deserved point at the death.
A fantastic game of football and great advert for non league ended 2-2 at Tatnam.
The Dolphins are now unbeaten in 13 matches at home in all competitions and have a tough FA Cup test next against Gosport Borough on Saturday.
