100% passing, 5 duels won, 2 dribbles: £22m Man Utd star dazzles in 26-minute cameo on Int'l duty
Manchester United star Patrick Dorgu had a lively cameo for Denmark during their 3-0 win over Greece in a World Cup qualifier on Monday.
The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in Denmark’s goalless draw against Scotland last week, but he came off the bench to face Greece last night.
Dorgu managed only 26 minutes, but it was a promising performance from the right wing.
The £22 million-rated star won five out of eight duels, while completing 100 percent of his passes.
He also completed two dribbles and attempted three shots – one of those hit the woodwork before Rasmus Hojlund scored.
Dorgu did not get much exposure with Denmark, but United will hope that he can replicate his showing against Greece when they take on Manchester City on the road this weekend.
City no longer possess a rubber-tight defence and have conceded four times in the last two outings.
The right-back position has been a weakness for the Cityzens. Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes have started in the role, but neither has looked comfortable so far this campaign.
Dorgu could have a big part to play from the left wing-back position. The Dane needs to make regular overlapping runs to create space for Matheus Cunha or whoever starts in the left number 10 role.
Early crosses into the box should be an option too, particularly with the towering aerial presence of Benjamin Sesko. Sesko looks poised to start after multiple substitute league appearances.
Sesko played 90 minutes in both World Cup qualifiers for Slovenia. He should lead the line for United.
United picked up four points from their arch-rivals last term. That included a late 2-1 comeback triumph at the Etihad. The Red Devils should be optimistic about repeating the feat on Sunday.
