Hibees On International Duty!

In total 13 Hibees are representing their nations on international duty over the next week, including nine First Team players and four members of the Hibernian FC Academy. Find out who is playing where below!

Kieron Bowie & Grant Hanley – Scotland

Kieron Bowie earned his first cap for the National Team at the end of the 2024/25 campaign and has received another call-up to the Scotland squad for the upcoming international window.

Bowie has continued his rich vein of form into the new campaign, scoring two goals in three league matches to date.

He will be joined by experienced defender and regular Scotland cap, Grant Hanley. The 33-year-old has made 62 appearances for his country and will be hoping to add to that number when Scotland travel to play Denmark (Friday 5 September) and Belarus (Monday 8 September) in their opening World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

Martin Boyle & Jack Iredale – Australia

Jack Iredale has received his first full call-up to the Australia international squad! He has joined up with teammate Martin Boyle for the Socceroos for their ANZAC Soccer Ashes Series against New Zealand.

Boyle has 39 caps for Australia, scoring nine goals – whilst Jack is bidding to make his senior international debut!

The Socceroos are in action on Friday 5 September in Canberra, before the return fixture takes place on Tuesday 9 September in Auckland.

Junior Hoilett – Canada

Junior Hoilett is back in the Canada National Team! He has been named in Jesse Marsch’s 24-man squad for their upcoming friendlies in Europe.

Canada take on Romania on Friday September 5 in Bucharest, before a clash with Wales in Swansea on Tuesday, September 9.

Hoilett has 65 caps for Canada – scoring 17 goals to date!

Thibault Klidjé – Togo

Hibernian striker Thibault Klidjé has been called up to represent Togo for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Mauritania (Friday 5 September) and Sudan (Tuesday 9 September)!

Togo currently sit fourth in Group B on four points from six games. Thibault has 18 caps for Togo already, scoring one goal so far.

Rocky Bushiri – DR Congo

It is a big international window for DR Congo and Rocky Bushiri. DR Congo currently lead the way at the top of World Cup Qualifying Group B with four games to go!

The Leopards are top with 13 points, a point ahead of Senegal and Sudan, who are both tied on 12 points.

DR Congo face both Sudan (Friday 5 September) and Senegal (Tuesday 9 September) in two huge matches.

Rocky has four caps for DR Congo and will be hoping to add to that number over the next week.

Jordan Obita – Uganda

Jordan Obita has been named in the Uganda national squad for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Mozambique (Friday 5 September) and Somalia (Monday 8 September).

Jordan made his senior international debut in June, earning his first two appearances against Cameroon and The Gambia.

Uganda sit fourth in Group G, with nine points in what is a tightly contested group.

Miguel Chaiwa – Zambia

Miguel Chaiwa has been named in the Zambia squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifier with Morocco.

The box-to-box midfielder has caught the eye of the Hibernian FC supporters since arriving in the summer – and opened his goalscoring account with a brilliant solo effort against Legia Warsaw.

The 21-year-old has 12 caps for Zambia already, and will be hoping to get more minutes against Morocco on Monday 8 September.

Lewis Gillie and Joseph McGrath – Scotland U19s

Hibernian FC Academy youngsters Joseph McGrath and Lewis Gillie have both been named in Neil MacFarlane’s Scotland U19 squad for their upcoming friendlies in Slovenia.

Scotland take on Slovenia, Kazakhstan and United Arab Emirates, with all three matches taking place in Kranjska Gora.

Callum MacDonald and Arran McSporran – Scotland U17s

There were inclusions for Callum McaDonald and Arran McSporran to Brian McLaughlin U17 squad.

The young Scots are playing in a development tournament in Porto, where they will face Serbia, Portugal and Italy.
