NBA All-Time Rank No. 29: Steve Nash

Ranking the top 50 players in NBA history…

29. Steve Nash

Although Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has a shot at the throne, Nash is still the greatest basketball product to ever hail from Canada.

The Phoenix Suns legend is one of the most offensively-gifted stars to ever step foot on an NBA floor, and you can argue that no one in the history of the game has ever had a greater combined skill set between ball-handling, passing and shooting. Nash was beyond elite at all three.

The only thing missing from Nash’s resumé, of course, is an NBA championship. He led the league in assists five times and finished with ridiculous career free throw (90.4) and three-point (42.8) percentages.

Nash was named NBA Most Valuable Player twice (2005, 2006), earned eight All-Star selections and received seven All-NBA honors, including three First Team nods. He was a four-time member of the 50–40–90 club. He was one of the most exciting players to watch in the league during his prime, and the “seven-seconds-or-less” Suns changed the way NBA basketball was played.

Nash was a winner, too, leading the Suns to the Western Conference Finals on three sep

His contributions were recognized with induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018 and inclusion in the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

But who ranks ahead of Nash at No. 28 all-time?
