Seagulls beaten away to Bala

COLWYN BAY were beaten 1-0 in their Friday night away game at Bala Town to leabe them still looking for their first win after gaining promotion back to the JD Welsh Premier.

The only goal of the game came after only 11 minutes and although the Bay had chances to get back on terms, and even win it, they weren’t able to take any of them.

They forced two early corners in the first half, with Jordan Davies heading wide from the second of them, and then Sol Forde had a header saved by Bala keeper Joel Torrance, before Bala took the lead with Dominic McGivern’s shot from 20 yards.

Louis Robles was in on goal, but Torrance made a fine save and Aron Williams also had an shot saved by the keeper before half-time.

In the second half Aaron Williams had an effort from a corner well saved and then a long throw produced a scramble in the Bala area ending with Nathan Peate firing a big chance over the bar from six yards.

Rhys Williams was called on to make a good reaction save from one Bala break away, to prevent the home side doubling their lead, and the Bay kept battling for that elusive equaliser with Jordan Davies shooting over the bar after a good run to edge of the box and a Nathan Peate header bringing another save by star manTorrance.
