Sancho never said no to Roma, Manchester United talks continue

The game is still on for Roma in their pursuit of Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. In fact, in reality, their pursuit was never over. And now, talks between the Giallorossi and the Red Devils are set to continue. 

Where Roma stand in Sancho pursuit

Sancho, who is into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, has been linked with a move to Roma over the last week. Despite the negotiations taking a while to move forwards, Football Italia understands that Sancho has never said ‘no’ to an approach from the Gian Piero Gasperini’s side. 

Thursday afternoon, in fact, was one of relative confidence for Roma, who have been in constant contact with Manchester United and are expected to resume talks in the coming hours. 

Roma are waiting to receive a definitive ‘yes’ from Sancho himself, and only when that arrives will they be able to claim that they have a deal in place. This should be taken with a pinch of caution, as the situation still depends on Sancho’s personal desires. 

For now, Roma are continuing to work on a deal and have put any other alternative transfer targets on hold. Jonathan Rowe, for example, has instead decided to join Bologna, although Roma’s interest in him was never considered ‘serious’.
