When Donnarumma to Manchester City for Ederson was an exclusive 3 months ago
While Galatasaray work to bring in Ederson, opening up space for Gianluigi Donnarumma at Manchester City, this is a plan that has been in the works for over three months.
Everyone now knows that the Turkish team is pushing intensely to get the agreement over the line for €10m, then once that deal has been completed, Manchester City can present their proposal to Paris Saint-Germain.
In truth, those two clubs have already been in contact and it is their interests to sort out a solution with Donnarumma frozen out by Luis Enrique.
Donnarumma replacing Ederson was always the plan
It might seem surprising, but we had reported on this precise scenario in early May, warning that Pep Guardiola was eager to work with the Italian and needed to sell Ederson first in order to make that happen.
Back then, it was considered practically impossible, as the former Milan shot-stopper was instead linked with other Premier League clubs.
It took three months, but the scenario is finally playing out for Donnarumma to take over at the Etihad.
