West Ham enquire for Napoli & Torino target Elmas
West Ham United are interested in signing Leipzig midfielder Eljif Elmas, as reports from Italy claim that the Hammers are the latest club, after Napoli and Torino, to join the race for the North Macedonian.
According to what has been reported by TuttoMercatoWeb today, West Ham have made an enquiry to Leipzig about Elmas and Graham Potter’s club could attempt to persuade the Bundesliga outfit to sell with a ‘suitable offer.’
However, Napoli have also been closely linked with the player and Torino were mentioned prior to that as well. Therefore, with nothing concrete, the race is open.
Elmas turns down Besiktas for European stay
The same reports claim that Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas offered the former Fenerbahce player a €5 million per year deal to come to Turkey but the player rejected the offer, instead wishing to stay in Serie A or start a new adventure in the Premier League.
As we reported earlier in the week, Napoli are prepared to wait till the closing stages before launching a bid for Elmas – as the Neapolitans are not in such urgent need of further reinforcements as to be put in a situation where they may be forced to overpay.
