Man Utd “keep working” on huge transfer, Fabrizio Romano reveals what “could be key” to unlock the deal

0 3

Manchester United are reportedly not giving up on an ambitious potential transfer move for Brighton central midfielder Carlos Baleba.

The Cameroon international has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League in recent times, and looks almost certain to be one of Brighton’s next big sales.

The Seagulls have cashed in on the likes of Moises Caicedo and Joao Pedro to Chelsea in recent times, while Alexis Mac Allister and Leandro Trossard are among some of their other big names to leave.

Baleba is now emerging as a top target for Man Utd, and Fabrizio Romano has an exciting update as he says the Red Devils selling players could be “key” to affording this deal…

Romano posted: “Man United keep working on Carlos Baleba deal. Sales (Garnacho, Antony, Sancho) could be key for higher bid. Initial approach to discuss with Brighton ready, deal difficult; #BHAFC want to keep + eventually sell in 2026. Carlos, keen on the move.”

Carlos Baleba to Manchester United won’t come cheap

Baleba is seemingly keen on the move to Old Trafford, but Brighton might not be ready to let him go just yet.

If the 21-year-old does leave, he certainly won’t come cheap, with Brighton regarding him as another potential Caicedo-esque sale, according to a recent X post from Ben Jacobs…

United have already had a busy summer bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, so it remains to be seen if they can really afford another major signing like this.

Still, as Romano says, perhaps a few player sales can help MUFC, with there potentially being some decent money to be made from letting Sancho, Antony and Garnacho go.

Carlos Baleba looks essential for Man United

United have brought in an entire new front three, but there are still changes needed elsewhere in Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Baleba makes sense as a top priority as he could be a major upgrade on the likes of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte in the defensive midfield area.

If United don’t get Baleba, one imagines there’ll only be a queue of other top clubs coming in for him at some point in the near future.
