Done Deal: Heggem set for Bologna medical from West Bromwich Albion

Multiple sources confirm West Bromwich Albion defender Torbjorn Heggem is flying out for a Bologna medical, but with variations on the cost of the move.

Norwegian site Nettavisen reported he will fly out for his medical this evening, with the tests scheduled for Thursday.

Negotiations had been going for a few weeks, with the centre-back brought in to replace new Napoli signing Sam Beukema.

Heggem ready for Bologna medical

It was evident that something was in the works when he was suddenly withdrawn from the squad for Tuesday’s Cup match against Derby.

The 26-year-old only joined West Bromwich Albion a year ago for €600,000, so they are making an extraordinary profit on the player.

Sky Sport Italia and Sport Mediaset put the fee Bologna are paying for Heggem at €8m, whereas in England and Norway the suggestions are as high as €12-13m.

This could be due to the inclusion of various potential add-ons.

He made 45 competitive appearances for West Brom last season, contributing one goal and two assists from central defence.
