Jadon Sancho snubs reunion with ex-Man United boss, prefers a move elsewhere

0 1

Forward Jadon Sancho has been linked with Besiktas in a move that would see him reunite with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was in charge of Manchester United when he arrived at the club and is now the head coach of the Turkish side.

Besiktas President Serdal Adali has confirmed the club’s interest in the England international but admitted that a deal could be difficult because players like Sancho ‘usually prefer clubs playing in the Champions League’.

Fenerbahce has also been credited with an interest in him this summer, but a move has yet to come into fruition.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Sancho is not keen on joining a Turkish club, although his stance could change towards the end of the transfer window.

He said (via his YouTube channel): “Besiktas would love to sign Jadon Sancho, but my understanding is that Sancho doesn’t want to go to Turkey, at least for now.

“If, by September 1st, Sancho still hasn’t secured a move and the market remains open, there could be other possibilities. For now, however, he is not considering a switch to Turkey.”

“He prefers to wait, and there are Italian clubs calling. Sancho’s exit will be another important topic in the final days of the summer transfer window.”

The 25-year-old has several interests from the Serie A, with Inter Milan Juventus and AS Roma interested in him.

The Old Lady have made the most concrete steps towards signing him. They have reportedly agreed on personal terms but need to sell players before completing the deal.

Roma have contacted United to learn the conditions required for a move while Inter Milan consider him as a back-up target for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.

Besides the two Italian teams, Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are also pushing to sign him but have yet to make any formal bid.

Sancho is the only player without a squad number in United’s revamped dressing room, implying that he is sure to leave this summer, but his next destination remains to be seen.
