Sunderland enquire for Juventus defender Kelly
Sunderland have made enquiries to Juventus about English defender Lloyd Kelly, as reports from Italy claim the Bianconeri could part ways with the former Newcastle and Bournemouth player in an attempt to help finance a move for Randal Kolo Muani.
According to what has been reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady are increasingly keen to bring the French forward back to Turin after his successful loan spell last season. Financially, a move is complicated and the Bianconeri need to work on player sales if they are to swoop back in for the PSG striker.
Therefore, Kelly is considered to be on the transfer list and Sunderland could move for the player, who Juventus value at around €18-20 million.
Kelly not desperate to leave Juventus but if the right offer arrives…
Kelly, 26, joined the Bianconeri just last season, moving on loan in February with an obligation-to-buy. In his first half season with the Serie A side, Kelly played 19 times in all competitions and was by no means a bit-part player for the Old Lady.
Furthermore, Gazzetta suggest that the player himself is not desperate to leave and Juventus are not trying to offload him for cheap. However, the Bianconeri’s desire to make other moves in the market may leave them with little choice if a suitable offer comes in for the former Bournemouth man.
