Mathys Tel has now revealed what Thomas Frank is like behind the scenes at Tottenham as the Lilywhites prepare for a huge clash against PSG.
Spurs have a unique opportunity to win a trophy in their first competitive fixture of the season as they are set to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup in a matter of days.
All eyes will then turn to the regular season, with Thomas Frank admitting that he wants Tottenham to compete on all fronts.
Although Spurs ended last season with Europa League glory, they performed woefully in the Premier League, finishing in 17th place with 22 league defeats.
Frank now faces the difficult task of getting the club back to the top end of the table.
Mathys Tel says Tottenham will try to win everything
The club are certainly setting their sights very high in this new era, with Daniel Levy claiming that Tottenham want to eventually win the Premier League and the Champions League.
Thomas Frank has said he shares Levy’s ambition, although the Spurs boss admitted that the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal are ahead of his side at the moment.
Mathys Tel has previously claimed that no matter what anyone thinks on the outside, the Spurs players will go into the season looking to win every competition they are in.
Now the Frenchman has looked ahead to the new season and revealed what life is like under Thomas Frank. He said (Tottenham Official): “Pre-season has been positive for me because we’ve learned a lot.
“It was a good performance from FC Bayern – we knew that this game would be tough, would be difficult, but we need to learn with this performance, work again and switch on for the next game.
“We just need to work harder. I’m looking forward because we have a good team, a good club, good fans, and I have a lot of confidence about this season.
“Working with Thomas is very good – he has a lot of energy, he brings good vibes in the dressing room, on the pitch, off the pitch, so I’m very happy to work with him.”
Tottenham need to show ambition in the transfer market
Frank did admit that Tottenham need a big squad to compete on all four fronts, with the 51-year-old making no bones about the fact that more signings are needed.
The Lilywhites fell away considerably in the Premier League as a result of focusing on the Europa League last season, and if Levy and co do not want to see a repeat of that, they will have to back Frank in the transfer window.
The final month of the transfer window is thus extremely crucial for the North Londoners, who arguably need at least three more top-class additions, particularly given that Heung-min Son has departed Tottenham.
