Bundesliga insider lifts lid on possible Harry Kane return to Premier League

0 4

Harry Kane does not wish to leave Bayern Munich after the World Cup.

Reports continue to link the England international with a return to his old home in the Premier League.

However, it’s understood that the celebrated striker is very much still enjoying life in the Bundesliga with the reigning German champions.

That’s not to say the Englishman’s mind won’t change further down the line. However, for the time being, Kane and his family are settled in Munich.

On the club’s side, official talks over his future are planned for the summer of 2026, at which point the Bavarians could very well look to extend the relationship.

“It’s not true that Harry Kane wants to return to England after the 2026 World Cup,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CaughtOffside.

“The England international had a clause inserted in his contract that had to be exercised during the winter break for the following summer window.

“The striker has since turned 32, and his contract remains set to expire in 2027. However, currently, talks between the club and player are not scheduled to take place until the summer of 2026.

“It’s worth emphasising that Kane feels very comfortable in Munich. He’s enjoying winning titles, and at FC Bayern, it’s an addiction that has taken hold of him. Now, he wants more!”

Kane has been a revelation at Bayern Munich

Why on earth would the striker be pushing for an early exit?

As things currently stand, he’s in a competitive Bayern Munich side. He’s lifted the Bundesliga title and arguably should have progressed deeper into the Champions League knockout rounds in 2024/25.

Since his arrival in the summer of 2023, Harry Kane has amassed 85 goals and 26 assists in 96 games.

Could a fairytale Tottenham reunion be on the cards?

In the far-flung future, it may be difficult for the Englishman to resist a return to the club that put him on the football map.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Spurs’ current striker woes will continue to plague them well after the World Cup.

If so, and Kane is open to a return to Tottenham, you’d be hard-pressed (one might reasonably imagine) to find a majority of fans opposed to the move.

At 32 years of age, the Bayern hitman remains one of the most devastating attackers in Europe. Who’s to say his powers will have declined significantly in a year or two’s time?

Could other Premier League sides be interested in Kane?

Liverpool were previously urged to test the waters for Harry Kane prior to their signing of Hugo Ekitike.

With the Merseysiders looking potentially likely to add Newcastle’s Alexander Isak to their ranks this summer, however, this possible avenue looks set to be permanently closed off.
