QPSA arm Spiders skipper with new band
QUEEN’S PARK supporters wear their heart on their sleeve every time the Spiders are in action.
Now club captain Euan Murray will wear the supporters’ logo on his arm every time he leads the team out on a matchday too.
The Queen’s Park Supporters Association have sponsored the captain’s armband for season 2025-26 and the group’s new logo will be worn by the skipper, or vice-captain Charlie Fox every game this season.
The new updated shield-shaped emblem, designed by Lundie Media, features a nod to the supporters’ group’s early motifs and 70s style football as well as the QPFC heraldic crest.
It’ll be granted a first run out on Saturday with Arbroath in town – and it has another role after the whistle too.
Starting on Saturday, the captain will gift the armband to a young supporter at full-time, so make sure you’re shouting encouragement to the Spiders until the final whistle – and beyond!
Queen’s Park captain Euan Murray said: “Thank you to the QPSA for sponsoring the armband. I’m looking forward to hearing our fans at The city Stadium and handing the armbands out at the end of each home game.
“Hopefully we can secure three points and given our young fans another reason to smile!”
Richard Baillie, from the QPSA, added: “We’re delighted to be supporting the club in this initiative and feature our new logo on the captain’s armband this season.
“The design builds on the elements from the original 1947 logo and a version that was created when the QPSA was rebooted around 50 years ago. It keeps our iconic lion, football and the hoops, and brings in the chequerboard which is a nod to the historic ska influence in the support.
“Thanks to Gordon Lundie for his design input and I, as do all at the QPSA, look forward to seeing it in action this Saturday.”
Head of commercial at Queen’s Park Kieran Koszary said: “I’d like to echo Euan’s thanks to the supporters association who are really backing the club this season with some super support.
“We are enjoying a very positive relationship on this and many other fantastic fan initiatives to come but I am particularly excited and proud of this one.
“Donating the captain’s armband to a young fan was a tradition myself and then captain Gregor Buchanan began at Falkirk – one I am delighted to see the club continue in the Premiership.
“I’m pleased we are now able to continue this at Queen’s Park and know it will mean as much to our magnificent young fans as it has been so warmly received elsewhere.”
