Exclusive: Ex-Leeds United goalkeeper Silvestri in Cremonese talks
After Cremonese announced two exits today, we can exclusively confirm they are also in advanced talks with ex-Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, a free agent.
The Seahorses earned promotion to the top flight via the play-offs, joining Sassuolo and Pisa in Serie A for this season.
Cremonese calling in veteran Silvestri
Football Italia can confirm that there are talks in progress with veteran goalkeeper Silvestri, who is a free agent after his contract with Empoli was allowed to run down.
The 34-year-old has represented the likes of Sampdoria, Udinese, Hellas Verona, Leeds United and Cagliari in his long career, amassing 169 Serie A appearances and 88 in the English Championship.
Cremonese also confirmed two agreements today, as Luca Zanimacchia has been officially sent out on loan to Modena.
There is both an option to make it permanent, and a counter-option for Cremonese to bring him back to base at the end of this term.
Salvatore Dore has also been loaned out to Pergolettese.
