Man Utd now 'offered' 17-goal star by UCL club, £22m could sign him - report
Manchester United are anticipated to sign a new striker during the ongoing transfer window.
The Red Devils have bolstered their squad this summer with some quality acquisitions.
Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo should provide big upgrades in the final third. A marquee striker is the next priority for the club.
Tuttosport today report that the Red Devils were recently ‘offered’ the services of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic through intermediaries.
However, United’s response to the proposal was a firm ‘no’ as they are prioritising the transfer of RB Leipzig marksman Benjamin Sesko.
Vlahovic is an inconsistent striker
The Serbia international joined the Bianconeri from Fiorentina in January 2022 after a phenomenal year where he scored 34 goals in Serie A.
However, he has simply failed to replicate such statistics in Turin. Vlahovic has managed just 43 goals from 104 league games for Juventus.
Overall, he has accumulated 58 goals from 145 outings for the Champions League side. His statistics are underwhelming, given the hype during his formative years.
Vlahovic missed 22 big chances during the recent campaign at Juventus, and we don’t believe he is consistent enough to warrant a move to Old Trafford.
His habit of picking up short-term injuries is another warning sign for any interested club.
Hence, we are not surprised that United have passed up on the opportunity to land the 25-year-old despite his contract expiring next summer.
Vlahovic, who netted 17 goals for the Bianconeri last season, could be allowed to leave for just £22 million during the ongoing transfer window.
