'It is clear': Amorim confirms £70m 'talented' Man Utd star wants to leave this summer
Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho is seeking an exit from Old Trafford this summer.
He is not part of the squad that travelled for the pre-season tour of the United States.
Manager Ruben Amorim recently spoke to the reporters and praised Garnacho as a “talented boy”.
He said (via BBC): “Garnacho is a really talented boy. But sometimes things don’t work out.
“You cannot explain specifically what it is. It’s clear he wants a different thing with a different leadership.
“They want new challenges. The market is open. I’m just working with the players that I think are going to stay.”
Garnacho looks poised to leave United
The 21-year-old shares a strained working relationship with Amorim.
He publicly criticised the manager for not starting him in the UEFA Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
Garnacho has failed to find his best form under the Portuguese head coach due to the tactical changes.
Amorim fields his side in a 3-4-2-1 formation, requiring attackers to play centrally.
Garnacho is a traditional winger who loves to start wide before taking on defenders and cutting inside.
Former manager Erik ten Hag backed the forward to shine at the senior level after helping him break through the ranks.
There is no doubt that he is an explosive winger who could be a future superstar.
However, Garnacho must focus on keeping his head straight and bring discipline to his game.
United are ready to part ways permanently with the Argentina international and value him at around £70 million.
Chelsea are expected to make a move for Garnacho and hope United will lower their asking price in the final days of the summer window.
