Midweek preview: Bassett and Lydney go again in the FA Cup

After Saturday's entertaining 3-3 draw, Royal Wootton Bassett Town and Lydney Town go again in an Emirates FA Cup extra preliminary round reply on Wednesday (Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, 7.45pm kick off). Both sides will be gunning for victory with the prize being a home preliminary round tie against Amersham Town. Bassett are unbeaten in their past seven home fixtures against Lydney across all competitions - and Jonny Aitkenhead's team will be looking to extend that further with victory in the world's oldest and greatest domestic knockout competition. Admission on Wednesday is £8 for adults and £5 for concessions and RWBTFC youth members. Also this week the Development team, aiming to bounce back from their opening day defeat, are in derby action away at Wroughton in the Wiltshire League Premier Division. The game takes place on Tuesday, 6.30pm kick off. The teams met three times last season across all competitions - and all were close encounters, with Wroughton triumphing 2-0 at their Weir Field ground.
