Jeremie Frimpong takes overlooked No.30 as Liverpool confirm shirt numbers for new stars
Liverpool have confirmed permanent squad numbers for their summer signings ahead of the start of the new campaign, marking the start of their renewed partnership with Adidas.
The club’s 2025-26 Adidas home and away kits are now on sale at the official online store, the LFC Store app, and retail outlets.
Right-back Jeremie Frimpong has chosen No.30, the number he had at his previous club, Bayer Leverkusen. It has not been worn by any player since Suso vacated it in the 2014/15 season.
He is not in good company as Djimi Traore is the only player to have won the number and had a promising career at Anfield.
Record arrival Florian Wirtz will now take over the No.7 jersey, which became vacant due to the departure of forward Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.
Several legends, including Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish, and Billy Liddell, wore the shirt. The German midfielder will be hoping he can replicate their successes at Anfield.
Left-back Milos Kerkez is the Reds’ new No.6 while striker Hugo Ekitike will wear the No.22 jersey.
Concerning the goalkeeping department, Giorgi Mamardashvili is No.25, Freddie Woodman No.28 and Armin Pecsi No.41.
Meanwhile, right-back Conor Bradley has switched from No.84 to No.12 and young midfielder Trey Nyoni from No.98 to No.42.
The defending Premier League champions will continue their pre-season with a double-header clash against Spanish side Athletic Bilbao on Monday.
The defeated Yokohama FM in their last game and will be aiming for back-to-back victories when they face Athletic.
Liverpool begin the new season in the Community Shield when they face Crystal Palace on August 10 at Wembley.
The Merseyside outfit then start their league title defence five days later against AFC Bournemouth at Anfield.
